C. Mistero Billin, Roman landowner.

Biography

Roman owner of land in the Germanic provinces of the Republic of Rome (as well as a slaveowner) who lived from approximately A.D. 110 to A.D. 168, when he succumbed to death due to complications from breaking his leg. Doctors at the time decided bloodletting was the quickest way to heal the broken leg, a survivable injury, but it only sped up the onset of death.

Trivia

  • Townsfolk thought him odd for putting fabric in his goblet.
  • Killed M'. Licilius Verres, over a leg of lamb, not realizing such a short man could be a general.

Quotes

  • "You there! Bubos! Lend me your back so I might reach those parchments."
  • "Where did I put my goblet?"
  • (Singing) "You're my slave, for me! I can't deny it. I can't try to hide it! You're a slave, of mine! If I cannot reach it, you will bring me higher!..."
