Not sure if I entirely agree with him. I think people can recognize satire but they need at least one tiny hint, whether it's hyperbole or humor. At least with "A Modest Proposal" the title gives it away (or maybe the part about eating babies does?). I don't think people mindlessly accept political ads, either.

Genius!
I like the new "Genius" playlist function on iTunes (although I am still confused why they use the term "Genius" when it has another meaning with Apple... are they running out of words?).
How about this for an idea. For maybe, say, $9.99 a month, when you make a Genius playlist it would insert one song from the iTunes store that you don't own. You could listen to the song once (not burn it to CD) and that's it. But you get to listen to a new song in every Genius list. You'd have to buy it if you wanted to keep it, though. Too much like the dreaded renting music model?

5D Mark II
The Canon 5D Mark II was just announced... 21 (!) megapixel, full frame, HD video (not sure about autofocus with video -- a downside of the D90), 25,600 ISO to match Nikon's D700.... and pricey (but less than the D700): ($2700 body, $3500 with 24-105 lens). More specs.
I think I still might want the 40D next... even though video would be nice, a standalone video camera will probably be better.
