Aimee and I had a fun getaway to Duluth last week for my sister's wedding. We brought Chester, who had a great time meeting people and even going for a swim for the first time.
My parents have a sheltie named Sadie.
Sadie is overly aggressive when she goes on walks, wanting to attack any dog she sees (or at least pretending to want to attack, biting her leash, barking, etc.). I think she is compensating for being a little bit shy. We weren't quite sure what would happen with Chester.
When the dogs first met we took them on a short walk to try to get them to bond. Sadie barked a little at Chester at first but quickly started to just put up with him as best she could. Chester would follow her around the house and she would just trot away, occasionally using a snarl or a snap at his feet to get him to back off.
We took the dogs on a couple more walks, including a nice two mile trek. The dogs walked nicely together.
After the long walk, my dad said the dogs played very briefly, but Aimee and I missed it.
The last day the dogs were together, they finally had a nice long play.
Also, see these photos I snapped.
We'll see what happens next time they are together.
More photos and videos coming.
