The Iowa-Iowa State game has come and gone. Iowa State lost, which makes me sad. Until I remember how much more pride, public support, and frenzied attention is poured into football compared to academics. Then I get sadder. One funny thing was I was working the day of the game, and after it was over there were a lot more black and gold shirts in the store than cardinal and gold. Either there are a lot more Hawkeye fans in Des Moines or all the Cyclone fans decided to stay at home and cry into their pretzels.
I haven't updated in a while, unless you count Dan and Cody helping to keep up with celebrity news. I think they should start their own celebrity news blog... they're pretty good at it.
If you'd like to e-stalk me, I've set up a del.icio.us bookmarks account: see what I've been enjoying lately on the web. Feel free to link to yours in the comments if you have one.
The birds have been busy. The other day Kirby took a good bath:
Lucky prefers showers. Have never seen him take a bath.
Lucky has had a project lately. Take a look at the paper towel roll he's on in this picture:
And compare it to this:
Lucky (with some help from Kirby) has been slowly destroying it. I say it's his project because every day he'll go at it like it's homework. Past projects Lucky or Kirby have had: trying to wrap dangling string around a branch. Trying to toss pasta on a string over a perch. Untying ropes holding the bird tree together. Knocking a toy car off the top of the cage over and over.
It's funny how much Kirby either tries to imitate Lucky or just wants to be near him. Anytime you put Lucky on your finger and walk away, Kirby will fly over to you (which he normally won't do on his own). If Lucky takes an interest in something, so does Kirby. Kirby was deathly afraid of lettuce until he saw Lucky eating it. Now it's his favorite food.
