"Who brought that cat?"

Video... get your video here!
I don't have too much to write about, so here are some links that have entertained me lately:
David Bowie "Extras" clip (video)
Clinton on Fox News (video). I miss having someone who can talk as a leader.
All the Simpsons or Futurama you can shake a stick at. (I'm sure Fox's lawyers have tried)
Greatest pool shot ever (video)
U.S. citizenship test - how many can you get right?
Soccer goal from more than halfway out (video)
and last but not least.... White and Nerdy (video)

The sports team representing my geographic area is highly superior to the sports team representing your geographic area
The Iowa-Iowa State game has come and gone. Iowa State lost, which makes me sad. Until I remember how much more pride, public support, and frenzied attention is poured into football compared to academics. Then I get sadder. One funny thing was I was working the day of the game, and after it was over there were a lot more black and gold shirts in the store than cardinal and gold. Either there are a lot more Hawkeye fans in Des Moines or all the Cyclone fans decided to stay at home and cry into their pretzels.
I haven't updated in a while, unless you count Dan and Cody helping to keep up with celebrity news. I think they should start their own celebrity news blog... they're pretty good at it.
If you'd like to e-stalk me, I've set up a del.icio.us bookmarks account: see what I've been enjoying lately on the web. Feel free to link to yours in the comments if you have one.
The birds have been busy. The other day Kirby took a good bath:
Lucky prefers showers. Have never seen him take a bath.
Lucky has had a project lately. Take a look at the paper towel roll he's on in this picture:
And compare it to this:
Lucky (with some help from Kirby) has been slowly destroying it. I say it's his project because every day he'll go at it like it's homework. Past projects Lucky or Kirby have had: trying to wrap dangling string around a branch. Trying to toss pasta on a string over a perch. Untying ropes holding the bird tree together. Knocking a toy car off the top of the cage over and over.
It's funny how much Kirby either tries to imitate Lucky or just wants to be near him. Anytime you put Lucky on your finger and walk away, Kirby will fly over to you (which he normally won't do on his own). If Lucky takes an interest in something, so does Kirby. Kirby was deathly afraid of lettuce until he saw Lucky eating it. Now it's his favorite food.

Suri you can't be serious
I am serious. And don't call me Suri.
She's been revealed! Like an OT Level III discovering Xenu and his Galactic Confederacy, we gaze upon this child with all our curiosity.
Let's breakdown this magazine cover featuring Suri Cruise.
First of all: the baby toupee. You can't look at that picture and not think of SNL's Baby Toupees skit and laugh. Maybe the hair length is real, but it's either photoshopped darker or they colored the baby's hair. Dumb.
Next... notice how Katie is all but pushed out of frame. Can you possibly minimize her importance in this family any more? Hey Katie, maybe try starring in a few more Hollywood Blockbusters, that might make you a mother worthy of a Vanity Fair cover.
Look at the location of the baby and how Tom is wrapping it up in his coat. This pose clearly suggests he is the "mother" in this family, his jacket as a surrogate womb for the child he can never physically have.
Finally, the baby is the only one looking at the camera. It's all too easy to read in her eyes: Please help me. I don't want to be a Scientologist. Just wait, kid. You will be forced to watch Battlefield Earth.
